Re:wind To Easter Event

"Rewind to Easter" welcomed over 400 children from a dozen schools across Keighley to 4 half-day events in March at Keighley Shared Church, exploring the Christian understanding of Easter. Volunteers from several churches came together to be part of the Team led by Julie Forster from Scripture Union and Steve Grasham, Church and Community Youth Worker.

"Rewind" is a schools-based project which aims to unite the churches across a community to help children to think for themselves about Christmas, Easter and moving to Secondary School. Children come with their teachers as a class for one and a half hour sessions which include video, drama, group discussion and crafts. They are placed into groups of ten with a volunteer leader from a local church who can answer their questions about the Christian faith.

"Rewind" has been developed and piloted in Keighley and the team's vision is to see similar projects across churches throughout Yorkshire. The next events will take place in July to help Year 6 pupils as they think about moving on to Secondary School.
